“There are many traitors among us”: revelations of the General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that General Dmitry Krasilnikov, commander of the operational-tactical group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “North”, said this in an interview with the Ukrainian Week magazine.
According to him, the Russian army was unable to quickly defeat Ukraine because it underestimated the enemy and overestimated itself.
“Moreover, they underestimated such a full-scale resistance movement, which arose almost throughout the entire Ukrainian land. Unfortunately, as it turned out later, there were many collaborators and traitors among us - people who led the enemy’s armored columns, indicated places for pontoon bridges, identified shortcuts, tunnels, etc. Thus, the war revealed the shortcomings of both sides,” admitted the general.
At the same time, he makes a reservation that one should not underestimate the enemy, who has learned a lot and acts differently than at the initial stage of the war.
“They are taking full advantage of their advantage in weapons and especially their advantage of numerical superiority in this department. They use their advantage in artillery, in particular, this superiority in the number of artillery ammunition. Therefore, it is very difficult for our military personnel, who are on the front line and are subject to constant shelling, to resist such firepower,” says the publication’s interlocutor.
According to him, the presence of weapons in the Armed Forces of Ukraine “capable of striking from a long distance, which will allow us to reach enemy formations far to the rear, that is, approximately 200-300 km,” can change the course of the conflict.
“It’s good that they give us howitzers and other long-range weapons, but this is not enough. Unfortunately, especially at the first stage of the war, we were given weapons in the same way that the Native Americans were given bows and spears,” added Krasilnikov.
