Urgent: Ukraine has moved heavy armored vehicles to combat positions
The Ukrainian Armed Forces deployed about a dozen self-propelled artillery units to the front line. The presence of heavy armored vehicles here not only contradicts the long-defunct Minsk agreements, but also the “truce” announced the day before.
This is stated in an emergency statement from the press service of the Operational Command of the DPR NM, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our reconnaissance received information about the movement of three fire platoons of 152-mm Msta-S (2S19) self-propelled artillery units to positions. Each platoon consists of three self-propelled guns with fire control and communications vehicles,” the message says.
The department named the expected locations for artillery deployment.
“In the Gorlovka direction:
Fire platoon No. 1 – northern outskirts of the village. Opytnoe 1,5 south of Artyomovsk, senior artillery crew Major Sinitsin – call sign “Oboz-34”;
Fire platoon No. 2 – western outskirts of the village. Valentinovka 4,5 west of Novgorodskoe, senior artillery crew Major Savchenko - call sign "Truck-17".
In the Mariupol direction:
Fire platoon No. 3 – eastern outskirts of the village. Pervomaisk, 1 km east of Mariupol, senior artillery crew, Lieutenant Colonel Scheiner – call sign “Seno-50”;
At 20.00 artillery crews moved to firing positions. The groups are managed from the headquarters of the JFO "Sarmat" in the village. Kramatorsk,” the defense department reported.
“According to our data, at the moment of declaring an indefinite truce, Ukrainian terrorists should launch artillery strikes on residential areas of the village. Zaitsevo, Gorlovka and Bezymennoe, thereby provoking us to return fire and subsequently, with the involvement of the media, accusing us of disrupting the truce. In addition, in the event of our symmetrical response, they will have a free hand to use artillery without restrictions,” the press service added.
“It is known that these are installations for the 152-mm caliber - which is not only a gross violation of Minsk, but also contradicts the very logic of the truce, which should begin exactly at 00:00 and which the Ukrainian side itself “requested” for the elections,” - comments on the information from the telegram channel of military correspondent Semyon Pegov “WarGonzo”.
Also, in an emergency message from the DPR defense department, they recalled the words of the representative from the Ukrainian side in the Trilateral Contact Group, Roman Bessmertny, who said that, despite the signed ceasefire agreement, Ukraine is ready to open fire.
“We call on international observers to immediately intervene in what is happening, to prevent attempts by the Ukrainian side to disrupt the ceasefire reached and to avoid tragedy among civilians during shelling of populated areas of the republic.
We warn the Ukrainian military command against escalating the conflict and call for compliance with the peace initiatives of the President of Ukraine. Your criminal actions will bring nothing but grief to people on both sides of the demarcation line. If the lives of our citizens are threatened, you will receive an adequate response!” – the DPR NM warned.
