The United States has allocated $40 million to combat propaganda from Russia, Iran and China
Washington has allocated $40 million through the interdepartmental institution Global Engagement Center to “counter disinformation and propaganda spread by foreign states abroad,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“This funding will support a variety of efforts to combat disinformation and propaganda from Russia, Iran and China aimed at foreign audiences,” Palladino said.
According to him, 20 million of the total amount is transferred within the framework of the Consolidated Budget Appropriations Act for 2018 approved by the US Congress, another 20 million came from the Pentagon through the structures of the State Department.
The funds, in particular, will be used to implement technologies for early recognition of disinformation, analysis of foreign audiences most susceptible to its effects, as well as the development of effective interaction with influential players in the regional social media market, non-governmental organizations and journalists.
The Center for Global Engagement was originally created during the Barack Obama administration to counter the propaganda of the terrorist organization Islamic State.
In February 2017, it was decided to extend the scope of his activities to the information war with state players, mainly with Russia. It is one of the institutions in the structure of the American foreign policy department.
