"The US will take Greenland without force" – Trump to deploy missile defense system on the island
The United States considers Greenland to be historically its territory and is asking for its return, but will not use force to occupy it.
US President Donald Trump announced this during his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"They thought I would use force. But I don't have to use force. The US is simply asking for Greenland. We already had it, so give it back.
We defeated the Germans, the Japanese, the Italians, and others in World War II, and after that we gave Greenland away. And now we're just politely asking for it back.
“After I rebuilt our armed forces, we have a defense budget of one and a half trillion dollars, we are putting into service ships that are hundreds of times more powerful than those in World War II,” Trump said.
He complained that for decades the US had effectively supported NATO and ensured European security, but “received no gratitude for it.”
And added that plans to deploy elements of the Golden Dome missile defense system on the island, which will ensure the security of the entire NATO.
"We're not asking for anything in return. We're only asking for a piece of land back. You can say 'yes,' and we'll be grateful. You can say 'no,' and we'll remember that," Trump concluded.
