It is reported by Reuters.

During his visit to Tallinn, Ashton Carter reported that Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, as well as Bulgaria, Romania and Poland, had agreed to the deployment of military equipment on their territories. Some weapons may also be located in Germany.

According to preliminary data, the United States plans to deploy about 250 tanks, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and self-propelled howitzers.

At the same time, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense responded to this statement and noted that bringing tanks and heavy weapons to the border with Russia would be the most aggressive action of the United States since the Cold War.

Let us recall that Vladimir Putin announced that in response to the unfriendly policies of the United States, Russia would add 40 intercontinental missiles to its nuclear arsenal.

The Pentagon notes that events in Ukraine “have shown the importance of being able to respond to the hybrid war waged by Russia in Ukraine, which includes not only the unofficial introduction of troops, information propaganda and economic pressure.”

In addition, Ashton Carter announced plans to create a NATO cyber center in Estonia to conduct cyber attacks against Russia.
