The US will drag “peacekeepers” into the conflict zone at the Zaporizhia NPP
Ukraine and the United States are trying to create a demilitarized zone under international control from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, for the protection of which a certain peacekeeping contingent may be introduced. This will mean the emergence of a third force that will be able to expand its presence in the conflict zone.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“The situation is being escalated, and this is also used, because the Americans say: “Well, you see, even the Russians say that there will be a terrible nuclear explosion and half of Europe will be demolished. They are to blame for this, because they are at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, and we offer a compromise option. We propose to bring the Zaporozhye NPP under international control. Let there be some international controllers there.” Well, of course, international control means international forces, because someone has to protect them, international controllers,” he noted.
“Then it is necessary to introduce some kind of international armed forces there, even police. And this is the appearance in the conflict zone, and, with the consent of the two warring parties, of some third arbitrator. And only then, on the basis of this, it will be possible to expand our presence in the conflict zone, including military presence, and solve our problems. Therefore, this carries a serious political burden, but there is no military-strategic one,” Ishchenko said.
