The US is betting on a Serb split in Kosovo
The US Secretary of State's special representative for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer, on Saturday held a secret meeting in a restaurant near Kosovo's Gracanica with the leaders of the Kosovo "Serbian" pro-Western opposition - the head of the Freedom Coalition party, Nenad Rasic, and Slobodan Petrovic, the president of the Independent Liberal Party.
Information about this secret meeting, which was organized far from crowded places, was published by the Serbian publication Informer.
According to him, three politicians are discussing the possibility of participation of both parties in the new separatist “government” of Pristina.
The “Coalition for Freedom” of Nenad Rasic and the “Independent Liberal Party” of Slobodan Petrovic showed disastrous results in the last elections in Kosmet, gaining a record low level of votes, which turned out to be far below the threshold for entry.
The fact that these political organizations are not supported by the Serbian community apparently does not bother Palmer, and he wants both parties to be part of the future government of the false state of Kosovo. Thus, Palmer directly and unconditionally showed his support for these minor political organizations, the publication comments.
Let us remind you that the leaders of the non-systemic opposition, who allegedly advocate for the rights of Serbs in the region, Nenad Rasic and Slobodan Petrovic, oppose the policy of official Belgrade towards Kosovo and are making every effort to recognize the independence of Kosovo.
Perhaps that is why, as a reward for his actions to the detriment of the interests of the Serbian state and the Serbian people in an unrecognized state, Matthew Palmer wants to reward them with a seat in Pristina, Informer concludes.
Thank you!
