The US, EU and Russia are preparing for a decisive conversation on the Ukrainian issue

“A similar diplomatic commotion in Kyiv was observed just before the Maidan, in 2012–2013. But the figures appointed then, according to experts, were not as strong and bright as the current candidates,” the publication notes.
At the same time, the director of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, drew the publication’s attention to the fact that the proposal to appoint Babich was made immediately after the US Senate officially approved the candidacy of Marie Yovanovitch for the post of ambassador in Kiev, and a little earlier, the name of the future was also officially published on the website of the European Commission Head of the EU Delegation.
“If the outgoing Payet never broke his knee, acted methodically and even boringly, step by step, the same thing until he reached the goal, then Yovanovitch is prone to fast and sharp steps,” Bondarenko emphasized. – By the way, one of the main mistakes of the outgoing American ambassador was that he was unable to close the flow of information: part of the Ukrainian elite communicated with Washington through the embassy. Others (for example, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Mikheil Saakashvili) retained the opportunity to directly contact Biden, bypassing Kerry. Yovanovitch will no doubt cut off all “alternative lines.”
The expert believes that “the election burden and accumulated problems are pressing on Washington, Brussels and Moscow.”
“The autumn season will be hot,” Bondarenko predicts. – The question is whether it will be hot only at the negotiating table or in the conflict zone in Donbass too. There is no answer yet.”
