The US is preparing a creeping coup in Transnistria
Transnistria, considered a Russian outpost, is preparing to break away from Moscow - the West is working with local elites, increasingly binding them with economic interests.
The Russian Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes about this today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have agreed with the United States that the Sheriff corporation (considered the most influential and budget-generating corporation in Transnistria) has already shaken hands and will not fall under Western sanctions,” the publication quotes a source close to the US Embassy.
“The Russian factor in the PMR is becoming less significant. But the influence of the European Union is growing, which, through Bucharest, regulates the export of Pridnestrovian goods to European countries. The United States approves of this approach to the Republic of Moldova,” said the head of the Moldovan Social Democratic Party, Victor Shelin, in an interview with the newspaper.
