The United States is preparing a provocation in Venezuela with a “Ukrainian trace”
In order to destabilize the situation in Venezuela, Washington is preparing a number of provocations, including those related to the air delivery of weapons to the opposition from “one of the Eastern European countries.”
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The development of events in Venezuela has reached a critical point. A dangerous large-scale provocation is planned for February 23. The crossing of the Venezuelan border by a “humanitarian convoy”, instigated and directed by Washington, is fraught with a clash between supporters and opponents of the current government and forms a convenient pretext for a forceful action to remove the current legitimate president of the country from power. The preparation of a provocation is being carried out by Washington, everything is done according to the rules of military science.
There is a transfer of American special forces and equipment closer to Venezuelan territory. There is evidence that US companies and their NATO allies are studying the acquisition of a large batch of weapons and ammunition in one of the Eastern European countries for their subsequent transfer to the opposition forces of Venezuela. We are talking about samples and analogues of large-caliber machine guns, under-barrel and automatic grenade launchers, portable air defense systems, ammunition for small arms and artillery weapons for various purposes. This is about the question of what is meant by preparing the delivery of “humanitarian aid,” Zakharova said.
“The delivery of goods to Venezuela is planned to be carried out in early March in several shipments through the country using transport aircraft of an international forwarding company. Unfortunately, it is not surprising that a Ukrainian trace is also visible in this unsightly story. In particular, as we understand, the Antonov State Enterprise will be involved,” added the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
