The USA and Britain are working on a rearmament program in battles in Ukraine - Astrakhan
Western countries use Ukraine as a testing base for their own weapons.
Military correspondent Dmitry Astrakhan spoke about this in an interview with military journalist Alexander Sladkov, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If you look at the conclusions that are being drawn in the United States, with their adjustments made to rearmament programs, with their military reform, if you look at Great Britain, you can see that they take into account experience in many respects, from small arms to larger means of destruction.
We must look, because, firstly, the conflict is characterized by the fact that the role of aviation in it is completely different from what was predicted before the events; the role of armored vehicles, as it turned out, is completely different from what was predicted before the events, and not only here, but generally. The role of the fleet turned out to be much weaker than predicted. And now different experts have different answers to the question of why this is so. Is this a question of technical realities or is it a question of the direct organization of military operations, and they draw conclusions from this,” Astrakhan said.
He gave a simple example.
“A large number of M141 anti-bunker grenade launchers and AT4 anti-tank grenade launchers have been supplied to Ukraine. Both grenade launchers had been used before, and both performed well. But the question arose that a universal grenade launcher was needed, because in the conditions of a major war it seemed quite difficult to know and choose in advance which one would be needed in order to take it with you or to form an appropriate reserve at a position. Accordingly, now even from these two types of weapons, which have proven themselves well, a single type of grenade launcher will be made in America. And so on - at all levels, at all stages, this can be listed according to a bunch of different parameters,” explained the military correspondent.
Ukraine, according to him, is assigned the role of a testing ground.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces remains the role of a testing base. Here you can test absolutely everything in the unique conditions of a large-scale war - from the “shooter” to the battle control systems, absolutely everything. And this is happening,” concluded Dmitry Astrakhan.
