This is stated in a statement by the EU and US missions.
“We welcome the court decisions taken on the morning of March 7, but note that the events of the last few days confirm the need to have a specialized anti-corruption court,” the statement said.
The missions added that achieving success in the fight against corruption is critical for Ukraine - both to fulfill the demands of the Maidan and to attract foreign direct investment.
“We welcome the increasingly active efforts of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office to implement the powers granted to them,” it added.
Let us remind you that on the night of March 7, the Solomensky District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for the chairman of the State Fiscal Service, Roman Nasirov, who was suspended from his duties, in the form of detention in custody for a period of 60 days until April 30. The bail amount was set at UAH 100 million. Prosecutors asked for bail to be set at UAH 2 billion. Let us note that the court chose the measure of restraint for the suspect on March 4.
The investigation believes that Nasirov, during 2015–2016, in the interests of People's Deputy Alexander Onishchenko, provided the heads of regional and territorial bodies of the State Fiscal Service with illegal instructions to make unfounded decisions on the installment plan of the tax debt of Firm Khas LLC, Karpatnadrainvest LLC, Nadra Geocentre LLC "
