The United States is looking for an opportunity to increase military assistance to Ukraine
The United States has already spent at least $3,5 billion on financing Ukraine and has practically exhausted the available resource. President Joe Biden will soon ask Congress to allocate more money.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said this at a briefing in Washington, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is expected that in the coming days he will hold consultations and conversations with the military leadership and, of course, the leadership of the State Department. I expect it to be something later this week and expect it to be a long term package or offer...
There may not be the same amount of aid week after week over the next few weeks. But in terms of what the next package will look like and what will be passed, I mean, these are the discussions and recommendations that the president will receive from his military leaders. We will have these discussions with Congress,” Psaki said.
