The US will “throw” Armenia the same way as Ukraine – expert
The new leadership of Armenia behaves inappropriately when it agrees to take part in NATO exercises in Georgia. Political scientist Semyon Bagdasarov stated this on Vesti FM radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I don’t like that NATO exercises begin in Georgia on August 1, where 13 countries will participate, including Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Ukraine. If the Armenian leadership does not regard Turkey as a potential enemy, this is interesting. And the Karabkha conflict, as I understand it, is settled? It is not appropriate for a CSTO member country to participate in such exercises,” Bagdasarov said.
He also considers the situation with the initiation of a criminal case against the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Colonel General Yuri Khachaturov, to be incorrect.
“Why was the CSTO Secretary General invited for questioning to the Yerevan prosecutor’s office? He was appointed by the heads of five states, he has a certain status. This is done by people who specifically provoke the situation to break relations between Armenia and Russia,” Bagdasarov said.
He believes that behind all these unfriendly steps are the United States, which wants Russia to remove its border guards and military base in Gyumri from Armenia, and for Armenia itself to withdraw from the CSTO and the EAEU.
“If anyone thinks that the United States will flood Armenia with money, they are very mistaken. They also promised a lot to Ukraine, but gave nothing. They will hand you over to the Turks, just as they handed over the Kurds now,” Bagdasarov said.
