The United States is extremely dissatisfied with Ukraine’s opposition to Nord Stream 2
The United States has already agreed with Germany on its position on Nord Stream 2 and wants to remove this topic from the agenda, and American capital can participate in signing an agreement with Gazprom on transit through Ukraine as the party that owns the Ukrainian gas transportation system.
Political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this in a conversation with musician Tariq Nezalezhko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is information that Washington, through its unofficial channels, conveyed its deep dissatisfaction with the appeal of the Ukrainian parliament regarding Nord Stream 2. They want to drop this topic because, apparently, they have resolved all the issues with Germany.
I have an assumption that, since it was said that there will be more negotiations on Nord Stream 2. So, as I understand it, it will be about the fact that in 2024 Gazprom will have to sign some kind of transit agreement with some entity in Ukraine. But I wouldn’t be surprised if this Ukrainian entity has American capital,” says the political scientist.
