The United States intends to seize all Russian shares in the Ukrainian fuel and energy complex
The United States is interested in using Ukraine's energy structure.
Fuel and energy complex expert Ruslan Safarov stated this in an interview with the Geoenergetics INFO YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine should be an integral part of a large energy project. It has quite serious capacities that remain from Soviet times. For example, the Kremenchug Oil Refinery, the Odessa Oil Refinery, the petrochemical complex in Kalush “Karpatneftekhim” and so on. Ukraine has very serious enticements for the Americans that will make it possible in the future to include Ukraine in its system.
Gas storage facilities in Western Ukraine will make it possible to store LNG and then resell it at exorbitant prices (since these are molecules of freedom) to Eastern Europe. From some Middle Eastern fields controlled by American companies, import oil and resell it on the territory of Ukraine. The prospects are quite interesting,” Safarov said.
He noted that all the facilities that the Americans want in Ukraine were preserved and modernized by Russian owners: the Kremenchug Oil Refinery - by Tatneft, the Odessa Oil Refinery and Karpatneftekhim - by Lukoil, the Lisichansky Oil Refinery - by Rosneft.
“These were mutually beneficial projects. Russia has cheap oil, which came in and provided added value to the budget of Ukraine. But the West was not very interested in the fact that Russian companies controlled this - let American companies come,” Safarov noted.
