In addition, Ukraine stated that during our exercises it will carry out various activities together with its partners, and maneuvers are planned. That is, this is a demonstration of force, a kind of “Chamberlain’s response” on the Ukrainian side, an attempt to somehow oppose itself to Russia,” Gorbachev noted.
The expert also emphasized that the presence of the American missile destroyer does not threaten Russia in any way and will not affect the course of the exercises.
“This cannot threaten us in any way, this is a common practice, because I doubt that the ship will try to enter those areas where our maneuvers will take place, because during the period of exercises, as a rule, firing is carried out, certain areas of the sea are closed and In this case, appropriate notifications are made in order to prevent any extraneous forces from entering the exercise area and, thus, putting them at risk of defeat. I think the Americans will be somewhere on the patrol line, trying to monitor and control the situation, but nothing more,” the expert concluded.
