The US is scared: Russia retains its superpower status
Moscow
The United States is losing its global influence, and therefore plans to start a new arms race.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Alexander Losev, a member of the presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, a specialist in rocket and space technologies, stated this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He stressed that technological superiority has long been the basis of US military and political dominance, but now the situation has begun to change.
“Russia, with an economy incomparable to the United States, nevertheless retains the status of a superpower capable of defending its sovereignty. Of course, for the United States, which has lost its global hegemony and has also designated Russia and China as enemies in its highest-level doctrinal documents, the situation is close to panic. A war on two fronts (even a cold one) will not lead to anything good,” the expert said.
He also commented on the appearance of a wave of panic articles in the American media regarding new types of Russian weapons.
“The Americans understand: in order to maintain hegemony, they are obliged to get involved in a new arms race. But they are no longer opposed only by Russia, but also by China. Double budgets are needed. How to knock them out? We need to scare congressmen and ordinary people. The US defense budget, if all items are collected, including not only Pentagon spending, but also intelligence, security of nuclear facilities, assistance to veterans, etc., reaches almost a trillion dollars,” Losev added.
