The US does not want to provide Ukraine with “smart” weapons
The American side is not interested in supplying Javelin anti-tank systems to Ukraine. Sergei Zgurets, director of the information and consulting company Defense Express, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv newspaper Segodnya.

“I have always said that American Javelins will not get to Ukraine for a number of reasons and circumstances. The American side is not interested in giving us Javelins. What else is the problem with Javelins? First: they do not shoot at cold objects. If the tank is not moving and it is cold, then it is difficult to hit it. Second: if there is dust or rain, then there are problems with starting. Third: this is an expensive thing. But the competitive advantage of the Javelin is that it attacks from above if the target was captured by the homing head,” the expert said.
He also said that Ukraine has recently increased production of the Korsar and Stugna anti-tank systems, which are purchased for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“But now there’s another problem – we have to learn how to use them. This is a problem for any new type of weapon, which is only effective if the personnel know how to use it. If we don’t know how to do this, then even if we have a treasure sword, but without fencing skills this will not end well. The Stugna and Corsair ATGMs are not “smart” weapons like the Javelin, but this simplifies their speed of adaptation by the Ukrainian army,” Zgurets noted.
