The US is not going to lend to “uninteresting Ukraine”
Ukraine will not receive a loan from the IMF in the amount of $5,8 billion, which the government was counting on.
Economic expert Vsevolod Stepanyuk stated this on the GolosTV UA channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that they will not give us a support loan, because they are dissatisfied with the text of the land law, that it is valid only from 2021, that it cannot be sold to foreigners at the first stage. They are unhappy with this and are unlikely to count this as fulfillment of the memorandum.
The second is banking law. Let's see how it is received. So far, I think, the votes have not been collected, but there is still time and, naturally, they are working with the deputies. I think that Ukraine can count on one and a half billion loans to fight the epidemic. This is what you can really count on, an urgent loan. But I don’t think we can count on a loan of 5,8 billion.
In addition, you need to understand that the IMF is completely controlled by the United States and Great Britain. After the United States began to reduce the production of its gas and oil due to falling prices, Ukraine became no longer interesting as a transit state. Therefore, why should they give loans to an uninteresting country?” Stepaniuk said.
