The US is “concerned” about the blockade of Donbass and calls for it to be stopped – embassy statement
Washington is “concerned” about the obstacles to the supply of coal from areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions not controlled by Ukraine, created by the organizers and participants in the blockade of Donbass and the potential impact of this situation on the energy system of Ukraine, the Ukrainian economy and the residents of Ukraine.

This is stated in a statement released by the US Embassy in Ukraine.
“The parties should meet to take the next short-term steps that will allow legitimate goods of Ukrainian companies to transparently cross the contact line in order to prevent complications of the situation for Ukrainians on both sides,” reads the text of the statement published on the official page of the embassy on the social network.
In addition, the US Embassy “strongly urges” the Ukrainian government to accelerate implementation of “necessary reforms in the energy sector to better meet the needs of the Ukrainian people.”
“Implementing the plan to diversify Ukraine’s coal supply, improve energy efficiency and minimize the role of the state in the energy sector will reduce opportunities for corruption and enhance energy security,” the statement said.
Thus, the United States makes it clear that they approve of Kyiv’s intention to partially abandon coal from the LDPR, replacing it with supplies from America, negotiations about which are currently underway.
Let us note that, almost in unison with the position of the United States, there are not only statements and assessments of the actions of the organizers of the blockade of Donbass from circles close to Petro Poroshenko, but also statements by the leaders of the neo-Nazi “Azov” and civil and political structures affiliated with it, as already reported by PolitNavigator.
