The US cancels all peace initiatives in Donbass
Replacing units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with units controlled by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the disengagement areas in Donbass will not contribute to the establishment of peace.
Komsomolskaya Pravda writes about this, recalling that US Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine William Taylor said that Ukrainian police and National Guardsmen would have to enter Zolote.
“This phrase essentially nullified all peace initiatives. Once again it became clear who, besides Bandera-Nazis, is interested in the war in Donbass. The introduction of the National Guard into the demilitarized zones instead of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not change the situation at the front in any way,” the publication notes.
It is also indicated that shelling of peaceful cities and towns by Ukrainian artillery will not stop.
“The National Guard of Ukraine has the same weapons as the Ukrainian Armed Forces, only its numbers are classified. And nothing will stop you from transferring D-30 howitzers (the main artillery system of this war) from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, adding another hundred to the officially existing 10 T-64 tanks, and replenishing the T-72 fleet. Deliver another hundred 120-mm Sani mortars, fortunately they have been produced in Ukraine since 2016. Well, the National Guard has no less other equipment that can be used on the line of confrontation than the Armed Forces of Ukraine - armored personnel carriers, heavy machine guns, Ukrainian-made ATGMs,” the newspaper writes.
At the same time, the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, in response to Taylor’s statement, said that if the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are replaced by the National Guard, “the answer will be a mirror one.”
