The US is enriching itself from the sanctions imposed on Russia
The United States pursues sanctions policy solely in its economic interests. Political scientist Dmitry Evstafiev stated this on the air of the Vesti FM radio station.
“They will put pressure, but in the financial sector - carefully, so as not to offend American investors. And the American investor is, as a rule, second-tier investment companies (so as not to expose the first one), which hold Russian government securities and trade on the Russian foreign exchange market. Everyone knows this. The names of these companies are well known to everyone. But financial sanctions have never been imposed against any of them, because there is no such income as from trading in risky obligations of Russia and China anywhere else,” said Evstafiev.
At the same time, he emphasized that the riskiness of operations with China and Russia is created artificially - by information methods, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This gives great American investors the opportunity to earn some money that they cannot earn in the American and European markets. Therefore, you can introduce sanctions against the defense industry, the chemical industry, you can terrorize our tycoons from the 90s, but God forbid you touch the American investor,” said Evstafiev.
He drew attention to the fact that the latest wave of sanctions is directed against those Russian businessmen behind whom there is an economic asset that is interesting to American investors.
“Or they occupy certain market segments that Americans would like to keep for themselves as part of a reindustrialization program. Why not make them a nightmare? The first group of objects of the sanctions policy was very revealingly chosen a group of people who tried very hard to prove to the West that they belonged. Beat your own so that strangers will be afraid,” said Evtsafyev.
