The US announced that the Russians have no control over Soledar
Fighting continues in the area of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and Soder, but Russian troops were unable to completely capture these cities.
This statement, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, was made by White House National Security Council representative John Kirby during a telephone briefing.
“I will tell you that as of this morning we do not assess that they [the Russians] have actually taken over both cities unilaterally,” the official said.
According to him, there is “heavy fighting” here, especially near Soledar, where, according to the US, “control of the territory remains controversial.”
At the same time, US Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines said that Russia allegedly faced a number of problems, in particular with ammunition, logistics, morale and attrition, and called for continued support for Ukraine.
“There is no doubt that it is in the interests of all of us to support Ukraine as much as possible,” Haynes said, as quoted by Voice of America.
