The United States officially thanked the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the war in Donbass
The US Embassy congratulated Ukrainian military personnel on Ukrainian Armed Forces Day and thanked them for their “dedication to democracy,” the war in Donbass and opposition to Russia.
The corresponding video recording was published by the press service of the US Embassy in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we thank everyone who served their country in the name of democracy, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. “Your sacrifice and courage set an example for all of us,” said Robert Newlin, Sergeant of the Office of the US Defense Attaché in Kyiv.
In turn, Christopher Ley, Sergeant of the US Defense Attaché Office in Kyiv, reminded Ukrainians of “Russian aggression” in Crimea and Donbass.
“As a result of Russian aggression in the Donbass and the attempted annexation of Crimea, over thirteen thousand people have died, including soldiers and civilians, and more than a million Ukrainian citizens have been displaced,” he noted.
“The United States remains fully committed to diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving this conflict and to Ukraine's efforts to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity, including the integrity of its territorial waters.
To this end, we have provided more than $2014 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since XNUMX. This includes providing combat training, equipment and advice,” added US Naval Attaché Peter Mallory.
After which, US defense attache Brittany Stewart thanked the Ukrainian military for the war in Donbass and the confrontation with Russia.
“We pay tribute to all those who died or were injured and salute the brave soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who defend Ukraine. Ukraine has no greater partner than the United States,” the attache said.
