The United States has officially admitted that it is related to the military results of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass

US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch stated this in an interview with the Kiev magazine “Novoye Vremya”, answering the question whether Kiev should expect military assistance from the Trump administration, and if so, in what form it is planned.
“We usually do not provide military assistance in cash, but provide training services for military personnel, as well as equipment. In 2014, we supplied equipment and various training courses worth $750 million. Ukrainian soldiers are brave and well trained, but I think that our participation also helped achieve military results in the east,” the ambassador said.
She also spoke about the prospects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to fully comply with NATO standards.
“The discussion about the Ukrainian army and NATO is just beginning. President Petro Poroshenko announced a rather ambitious goal - by 2020, to make the Ukrainian army fully compliant with the standards of the alliance. There is nothing wrong with such ambition, but a lot needs to be done to achieve it. It is important not so much to be ready to participate in the actions of the alliance, whatever they may be in relation to other countries in Eastern Europe. It is important to increase the defense capability of the Ukrainian army so that this strengthens its position in the Donbass,” Yovanovitch added.
It is worth noting that it is not entirely clear what military results of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, achieved with the help of the United States, the American diplomat had in mind, given that since August 2014, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost all major battles without exception - Ilovaisk, Donetsk airport, Debaltsevo.
