The US refused to share responsibility with Israel for the killing of civilians in Gaza
The US supplies weapons to Israel because it is in its interests, but does not share responsibility for the deaths of civilians killed by the Israeli army during the war in Gaza, which has been ongoing since October.
Member of the US House of Representatives, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, stated this on DW TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“No, we are not responsible. We have always supported Israel as our national security friend. Mainly because it was in our interests – mainly because it was in our interests,” the politician said.
“We had common values, this is the only democracy in the region. Netanyahu's behavior, in my opinion, is unacceptable in terms of the impact it has had on children and families, and so on. But no one can take away the right of a country to defend itself if it has been brutally attacked in this way,” Pelosi said.
