“Americans are very concerned about corruption. They say that even humanitarian aid does not reach the ATO zone from Kyiv, and now we are talking about weapons. In addition, we are concerned that the weapons do not fall into the hands of the enemy, as happened during the retreat of the Ukrainian army from Debaltseve. The Ukrainian army did not take the drone, although it weighed little. I could at least destroy it. But these are very expensive weapons,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to the expert, Ukraine can produce many types of weapons itself, so it would be more expedient to simply allocate money for its production.
"We We produce MANPADS, small arms... I remind you that Ukraine ranks fifth in the world in arms exports. We can produce most types of weapons ourselves, at our factories, in Kharkov and Lvov. The state needs money to purchase it. We don’t have to get the same armored personnel carriers; we have an excellent Soviet school, Soviet weapons, modernized, of course, which is quite enough to fight their Russian counterparts. Therefore, in many respects we can produce weapons ourselves. Of course, this requires funding,” Vorobiev said.
