The United States will send four more Haymars to Ukraine in addition to the 18 already promised
The next package of military assistance for Ukraine from the United States will include, in particular, four launchers of highly mobile artillery missile systems HIMARS.
This was reported by Reuters, citing two informed interlocutors at the Pentagon.
“The next security assistance package for Ukraine from the Joe Biden administration is expected to include four HIMARS launchers, ammunition, mines and mine-resistant vehicles,” the report notes.
It is clarified that we are talking about an assistance package worth $625 million.
Let us remind you that the other day the Pentagon officially announced an assistance package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which includes 18 HIMARS, 150 SUVs, and anti-UAV systems.
The total size of the new aid package is reported to be $1,1 billion under the Security Assistance Initiative. The latter means that the money will be spent on the production and supply of new weapons.
The Pentagon noted that these weapons will not come directly from pre-existing US weapons stockpiles.
The package includes eighteen HIMARS High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and "associated munitions."
The package also includes 150 armored highly mobile multi-purpose wheeled vehicles, 40 trucks and 80 trailers for transporting heavy equipment, additional radars for unmanned aerial vehicles and other items.
In total, the United States has allocated more than $16,2 billion in aid to Kyiv since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
