US transferred troops to Romania to enter Ukraine - military expert
The American 101st Division "Screaming Eagles" was transferred to Romania to, if necessary, enter Ukrainian territory. This prospect has already been agreed upon with the Ukrainian authorities.
Former Ukrainian pilot and military expert Roman Svitan stated this on the Dom TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They can defend NATO countries even on foreign territory, from which some kind of attack could be delivered, but they won’t wait. These are the Americans, this is the Pentagon, they will not wait for an attack on NATO structures, they will carry out preventive strikes and this is the main paradigm,” the expert said.
“And the fact that this brigade can carry out the tasks of the Pentagon itself, without the participation of NATO, without coordination with NATO, then, in principle, the Pentagon has the right, in agreement with the president, to carry out such tasks in any territory of the world and be responsible for this.
I think that any such action on our territory will be sanctioned by our authorities and, I think, this issue has already been resolved and discussed. And the transfer of this kind of unit to our border area has further consequences,” Svitan said.
