The United States donated military second-hand goods to Croatia and will make money on its modernization
The US government plans to transfer to Croatia almost 60 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles of the same configuration that were used in Operation Desert Storm in Iraq in 1991.
This was reported by the online military magazine Defense Blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The United States has accepted an offer to donate 60 Bradley fighting vehicles to complete a heavy infantry battalion,” Croatian Defense Minister Damir Krsticevich said during the international conference “The Future of the Croatian Defense Industry and New Technologies.”
The Minister of Defense also added that the Bradley vehicles that will be transferred to the Croatian army are in extremely good condition, however, it will be necessary to invest between $2 million and $5 million in updating and subsequent modernization of each vehicle. Croatia will receive $25 million as part of the US State Department's ERIP program.
The Bradley Fighting Vehicle is produced by BAE Systems, which is interested in entering the ownership structure of the Croatian Djuro Djakovic to modernize the fleet of armored vehicles in Eastern Europe.
Previously, American politicians and their patronized Albanian separatists in Kosovo expressed concern about the supply of Russian military equipment to Serbia. Recently, Belgrade has received air defense systems, tanks, armored infantry vehicles, combat helicopters, etc. from the Russian Federation.
