The highest official who received the “President” of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, was US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

A statement from the press service of the American State Department states that Pompeo again told the guest that the United States expects Kosovo to abolish the tax on Serbian goods. And he expressed the hope that Pristina “will use the momentum received after the signing of documents ratifying the restoration of air, rail and land communications between Pristina and Belgrade.”

“Pompeo reiterated that the United States supports the Special Kosovo Tribunal [for members of the separatist Kosovo Liberation Army – UCK, – ed.], whose work is vital to justice and strengthening the rule of law in Kosovo,” State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus told media representatives .

“You supported us in the most difficult times, as well as in our best days, and our gratitude is eternal,” Hashim Thaci showered compliments on the host. “By moving with Washington, we have achieved our aspirations... A lasting peace agreement between Kosovo and Serbia will mean peace for all of South-East Europe and a path towards a future of development and prosperity.”

In addition, Thaci met with US Secretary of Defense David Norquist, saying that Kosovo has its own army that meets NATO standards, and he, in turn, noted that Kosovo should quickly join the alliance.

The “President of Kosovo” also spoke with the CEO of the International Development Finance Corporation, Adam Bohler, to whom he said that Kosovo is determined for the future and is working to turn the “chapter of war” and accept a final peace agreement with Serbia.

Observers note that this American voyage was arranged for Hashim Thaci by the American patrons of the Kosovo project in defiance of the radical “prime minister” Albin Kurti, who, dreaming of ideas about a Greater Albania, under all sorts of pretexts, resists American integration initiatives in the Balkans and refuses to abolish XNUMX% customs duties on goods from Serbia .
