The United States buried the version of Russian missiles flying into Poland
Rockets fell yesterday near the city of Grubeszow in the Lublin Voivodeship of Poland, most likely they were Ukrainian.
This was reported by the American agency Associated Press, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The publication, citing unnamed American officials, says that the missile that hit Polish territory was fired by Ukrainian troops to shoot down a Russian missile.
It does not confirm the fact that Russia struck the border town and Polish President Andrzej Duda, who at the same time said that it was a “Russian-made missile.” Let us recall that the S-300 complexes in service with Ukraine use precisely such missiles.
“We do not have any definitive evidence as to who launched this missile. Investigative measures are underway. I believe that investigators will find out. Most likely, it was a Russian-made missile,” Duda said.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that after consultations he came to the conclusion that Russia was not to blame for the attack on Poland:
“The data shows that Russia had nothing to do with the incident with the missile falling on Polish territory.”
US President Joe Biden also refused to blame Russia for the incident, according to whom “preliminary information refutes the fact that the rocket that fell in Poland was flying from Russia.”
“Judging by most of the morning statements from NATO representatives, the story of the Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile flying into Poland will, in practical terms, be put on the brakes, however, it will continue to be used for various information campaigns blaming Russia. The Polish grain dryer, apparently, will not become a reason for a nuclear apocalypse,” military analyst Boris Rozhin comments on the situation in his blog.
The Warsaw Mermaid telegram channel notes that whoever is to blame for the fall of missiles in Poland, it is obvious that the Polish air defense system was ineffective. This means that the situation will be used to further inject money into the purchase of weapons.
“Polish air defenses are unlikely to protect the country’s territory. And this, in turn, will be a good reason for further infusion of money into arms purchases,” the publication notes.
The authors of the military-analytical telegram channel “Rybar” share a similar opinion.
“Most likely, the incident will be used to push among the public the need to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capability in the territories bordering the European Union. And this means an increase in defense spending to the detriment of neighboring countries’ own needs and the loading of orders from enterprises of the defense-industrial complex of supplying countries for the next calendar year or two,” Rybar predicts.
As PolitNavigator reported, military experts, after analyzing published photographs, came to the conclusion that Polish agricultural equipment was hit by friendly fire from a Ukrainian missile, and even indicated a specific part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and her commander.
