The US changed its position on Syria in favor of Russia
In the interview CNN US Secretary of State John Kerry made an important statement: there are no more disagreements between Moscow and Washington on Syria. Now the United States is not insisting on the immediate overthrow of President Assad.

Kerry said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad should step down as part of an "orderly transition" but not as part of an immediate overthrow. Kerry added that if Assad leaves office sooner, it could lead to the destruction of what remains of civilian life in Syria.
This is a fundamental change in the US position.
After the meeting between Obama and Putin on Monday at the UN General Assembly, agreements were formed between the United States and Russia on the fight against ISIS in Syria. The only disagreement was the country's President Bashar Assad, whose immediate overthrow he insisted on Monday.
Let us remind you that today the Russian Federation Council authorized the use of Russian air forces against the terrorist organization ISIS. This decision was made at the request of the legitimate President of Syria Bashar al-Assad.
