This was stated at a regular briefing for journalists by the head of the press service of the US State Department, Jen Psaki, noting that the United States congratulates the people of Moldova, Romania and the European Union on the commissioning of the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline, which united the gas transportation systems of the two countries.
According to her, the use of this 43-kilometer gas pipeline will help Moldova take advantage of the diversification of the country's energy supplies, including gaining access to the competitive energy market of Europe and increasing its energy security, the Noi.md portal reports.
As Jen Psaki emphasized, the United States intends to help Moldova achieve such goals by implementing programs to improve the regulatory framework in the energy sector and reduce energy consumption.
