The United States will help Ukraine find money “stuck” by bribe takers

The corresponding statement was made by the director of the US Government Agency for Combating Financial Crimes Jamal El-Hindi during a meeting with the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Alexander Danylyuk, the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reports.
During the meeting, current issues in the interaction of the Agency with government agencies of Ukraine and possible future vectors of cooperation between the American and Ukrainian departments were discussed.
Jamal El-Hindi noted that FinCEN is pleased with its cooperation with Ukraine, in particular with the State Financial Monitoring Service.
He also added that he is actively monitoring the process of creating the Financial Investigation Service (FIS) in Ukraine, the only body to combat financial crimes against the state. Particular attention was paid to the issue of interaction between the Financial Intelligence Unit and other government bodies, in particular with the State Financial Monitoring Service to ensure an effective investigation process.
El-Hindi added that the Agency is ready to provide support in the creation of an effective new FIS body.
