The US will try to pull the Majlis out of mothballs
In Washington they will play the card about the alleged infringement of the Crimean Tatar language, but will not notice the liquidation of Russian schools in Ukraine.

Director of the Center for Eurasian Studies Vladimir Kornilov stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator, assessing the proposal put forward by Verkhovna Rada deputy Refat Chubarov ultimatum to the US special representative Kurt Volker, who was demanded to stop negotiations with Russia until Medlis member Ilmi Umerov, convicted in Crimea, was rescued.
“I think Volker will be more careful now, thinking that Vovan and Lexus are playing him again. But seriously, American representatives will probably react and will use Umerov’s case along with other cases in listing the “bloody atrocities of the Putin regime.” For this purpose, they will also remember the Majlis, pulling it out of mothballs to talk about “the persecution of the Crimean Tatars and the Crimean Tatar language.” But the closure of Russian schools in Ukraine, of course, will not be noticed,” the political scientist is convinced.
