The United States built trailers at the pier in Berdyansk for... protection from Russia
The United States is building bases in Berdyansk and Mariupol for the division and special operations department of the maritime guard of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine at a cost of four and a half million dollars.
US Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine Kristina Quinn came to the opening of one of them, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Queen, the metal trailers in which the border guards will be located will help Ukraine protect itself from “Russian aggression.”
“Russia's actions prompted the United States, in consultation with the multinational joint commission, to direct security assistance to strengthen the State Border Guard Maritime Guard detachment to help Ukraine ensure safe and free navigation and protect Ukrainian sovereignty in its territorial waters. So, we are proud to be here today with our Ukrainian partners, as we see how another project is being implemented,” Queen said in Berdyansk.
She also added that a similar rapid response center for the Maritime Guard is being built in Odessa at a cost of $12 million.
