The US has turned gas into a weapon of geopolitical war
The United States is trying to prevent the construction of Nord Stream 2 in Europe in order to make it dependent on American liquefied gas and upset the geopolitical balance.
A member of the presidium of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems, political scientist Arayik Stepanyan stated this on air on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are no economic interests in the world, geopolitical interests are everywhere. Economics serves the laws of geopolitics. The Americans who want to close Nord Stream simply want to sell their expensive liquefied gas to Europeans and make them dependent,” the expert noted.
At the same time, in response to the remark of the deputy chairman of the Yabloko party Nikolai Rybakov that Russia, instead of building Nord Stream 2, needs to engage in internal gasification, the expert replied that in this matter the Russian people would not trust the liberals, who missed their chance back in 90s.
“Taking into account your thesis that let’s supply gas to Russian regions. Let's. But then the people will not choose you, but will choose the Soviet government, which will distribute gas to all regions. Because you were given the opportunity in the 90s, but you destroyed and plundered it all, that’s why the people don’t like you,” Stepanyan summed up.
