The US brought an ultimatum to Moscow and threatens the Russians with unprecedented sanctions
If information about the poisoning of the scandalous Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny is confirmed, then the Russian Federation will face unprecedented sanctions from the United States.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun stated this during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“Having previously defined the incident as an “incident,” the American side emphasized that “if the version of his poisoning as an opposition figure is confirmed, Washington will take measures against the background of which the reaction of American society to Russian interference in the US presidential elections in 2016 will fade,” it is noted in a message from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
In addition, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called on the EU to conduct a thorough investigation into the Navalny case and expressed its readiness to assist in its conduct.
“It turns out that Steve Biegun was bringing an ultimatum to Moscow? Curious. So what now? Navalny’s poisoning was confirmed, at least according to German doctors, which is taken for granted in the West. So it’s inevitable that the reaction to election interference will pale in comparison? And Navalny, as follows from this statement, is more important for the United States than its own elections,” writes famous Russian international political scientist Fyodor Lukyanov in his Telegram channel.
Let us remind you that Navalny I felt sick right on the plane, flying from Tomsk to Moscow, as a result of which the aircraft had to be urgently landed at Omsk airport. The oppositionist fell into a coma and doctors assess his condition as serious.
