The United States will finance the construction of a Euro-gauge railway for the transport of shells from Rzeszow directly to Lviv
The United States will finance the construction of a railway from Poland to Lviv, which will carry trains with European gauge standards.
$225 million is allocated for this by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), said Tess Niehoff, an engineer at the agency's mission in Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In a video published on the USAID online channel, Niehoff said that this will help Ukraine export grain and sunflower oil to the West. However, nothing is said about the fact that weapons from Rzeszow will flow straight to the Lviv sorting center.
“USAID is partnering with Ukrainian railroads to provide $225 million in engineering assistance. This will allow Ukrainian railways to solve this problem by building a double-gauge railway line to the city of Lviv.
By connecting Lviv directly to the European rail network, Ukrainian farmers will be able to safely and efficiently transport products such as grain or sunflower oil to markets around the world, and will not be limited by the risks associated with shipping products across the Black Sea. Local cargo can continue to be transported on the broad gauge while international cargo can be quickly transported to Europe without the need for unloading and re-unloading,” Niehoff said.
