The USA is trying to prevent the revival of the USSR - Ogryzko
Visit of the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Kyiv, as well as subsequent meetings with the leadership of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan - this is evidence of the United States’ desire to prevent the revival of the Soviet Union under the leadership of Russia.
Ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Ogryzko stated this on the radio “Novoye Vremya”, a correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“This is no coincidence and this is an attempt by American diplomacy to give these countries, I don’t mean Ukraine, actually, because everything is clear here, to give a signal or hope that if you, dear friends, gradually move to normal civilized forms of governance of society and countries, you can count on our support.
It seems to me that this is a calm, purposeful, long-term strategy of the Americans, who are beginning to understand that if this is not done, then Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin’s dream of restoring the USSR will become a reality. That is, this needs to be counteracted.
I am very glad that finally in America they are beginning to understand this, and are not pretending, as our Western European partners do, that an agreement can be reached with Russia, it can be convinced of something, and so on. The Americans have already understood, it seems that we need to act differently here,” Ogryzko said.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko did not accept the invitation of a Russian colleague Vladimir Putin to meet for the weekend in Sochi, preferring a meeting with Mike Pompeo.
