The US is trying to build a “quarantine” around Russia and China
Major NATO exercises in Europe “Defender 2020” and “Golden Cobra” in the Pacific region indicate that the United States is trying to build a containment perimeter around its geopolitical competitors - Russia and China - from states unfriendly to them - American satellites.
The dean of the Faculty of World Politics at Moscow State University stated this at a press conference in Moscow. M.V. Lomonosov Andrei Sidorov, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The intensification of exercises near our borders in the West and at the Chinese borders in the East indicates that a deterrence perimeter is being built,” the expert said. “At the core of American planning lies a basis that was developed during the Cold War: if you cannot defeat the enemy immediately, if you cannot bring him to the negotiating table on your terms, then this enemy must be isolated. Not giving him the opportunity to play on a wide front.”
According to Sidorov, this is exactly what the Americans did to the Soviet Union in their time. The USSR then agreed to these rules of the game and, accordingly, to self-isolation. Russia is no longer agreeing to this, so the United States is changing tactics.
“It is no coincidence that the concept of “intermarium” appears in the speeches of senior American officials, including the president, the secretary of defense, and the secretary of state,” noted the dean of the Faculty of World Politics at Moscow State University. – Make a quarantine (quarantine zones - ed.) to contain Russia and China."
