The USA decided to strangle Russia. You'll have to hold the blow for a long time
The West is not going to return Crimea to Ukraine, but is using the situation with the peninsula as a reason to increase pressure on Russia. Political scientist Adranik Migranyan stated this today at a round table at Sevastopol State University.

“There are no idiots in the world. Everyone understands perfectly well that Crimea and Sevastopol are an integral part of Russia. But since pressure will continue to be exerted on Russia for completely different reasons, Crimea will be used as a pretext. This is not because someone thinks that we will return Crimea and Sevastopol. We just need to maintain tension with Russia,” Migranyan said.
He believes that in the foreseeable future there will be no improvement in relations between the West and Russia.
“The Americans decided to strangle Russia financially and economically, to involve it in an arms race, in proxy wars and, thus, try to create a conflict in the elite circles of Russia, between society and the authorities, and try to change the regime.
Until the Americans understand that putting pressure on Russia is pointless and futile, this line will continue. They must understand that through brute and direct pressure they will not achieve their goals. We will have to withstand this blow for a long time,” Migranyan said.
