The USA, Russia and the EU, without Poroshenko’s participation, agreed to lead Ukraine out of the impasse
Negotiations with Donald Trumpand leaders of Germany and France, held by Vladimir Putin within the framework of the GXNUMX summit, allow us to hope for a gradual recovery of the situation in Ukraine from the impasse.

“The negotiations were difficult, but we can only welcome that the dialogue took place and the issue of Ukraine was discussed. The American media initially said that only Syria would be discussed.
What appointed a new special representative for Ukraine, can also be welcomed, because this has been expected for a long time, for at least six months there should have been a person who will be responsible for what is happening in this country. Because it was thanks to the activities of the State Department that this situation has largely reached a dead end.
Yes, Kurt Volker is not in the most favorable mood towards Moscow, but it would be naive to believe that an absolute Russophile will be placed there. The fact is that the American administration initially does not have particularly warm feelings towards Russia.
But this appointment symbolizes that the dialogue will continue and, most likely, they will use political methods to force Ukraine to begin implementing the Minsk format.
It is no coincidence that immediately after Putin’s negotiations with Trump there was a statement from Macron, Merkel and Putin that it was necessary to continue to implement the previously adopted agreements.
It is also symptomatic here that they did not invite any of the Ukrainian representatives to this kind of meeting, fully understanding that this was pointless, and Ukraine did not want to do anything.
But, most likely, she will be forced to do this.
The most important thing is that the meeting took place, because this gives hope that the dialogue will continue on the main issues, and this situation will no longer be in the semi-position where it has been in recent months,” says Gasparyan.
