The US is more likely to clash with Russia in Syria than in Ukraine
The world faces the threat of a repeat of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, but it will happen in a different place.
Senator and TV presenter Alexey Pushkov stated this on TVC.
“This could be with a high degree of probability in Syria, in the Baltic Sea, where NATO periodically conducts maneuvers, and in Ukraine. This is according to the degree of probability. When the world comes to a serious conflict, the parties will separate and decide how to get out of this clinch. Everything will be on the edge. But I don’t see the US’s readiness to exclude this scenario,” Pushkov said.
In his opinion, the United States and the Russian Federation in Syria in recent months have not become closer to the conflict, but they have not become further away from it, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I believe that the Syrian situation now requires the closest attention. If there is a Russian-American clash in Syria, the situation in Europe will sharply tense,” Pushkov said.
