“The US is pushing Ukraine to war” – Russian Foreign Ministry
Pumping Ukraine with weapons or sponsoring the militarization of the country is actually supporting further escalation in the Donbass and the destruction of Ukrainian statehood.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Sometimes they ask: what’s wrong if assistance is provided, especially in the amount of a large sum for military needs, and corresponding supplies are made? We talk all the time about the fact that Ukraine is in a phase of active armed internal conflict. This is an insurmountable problem and is no longer for the first president,” Zakharova said.
“Let me put it more simply. There is nothing wrong with asking guests to add sugar to their tea. If you put a whole sugar bowl in front of them, this speaks of your generosity, that you care about them, that you don’t feel sorry for anything for them, that you are ready to give your best. There is only one point: if the person you are offering to does not have diabetes. And you offer him more and more sugar. And you convince him that by adding this sugar to his tea, he is doing the right thing. Perhaps such a comparison will show the harmfulness of flirting with Kiev - not with the people, but with the Kyiv regime, with the politics in this country,” said a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“I’ll repeat it in political science terms. Indeed, we are concerned about the actions of the United States and other NATO member countries aimed at supporting aggressive militaristic sentiments in Kyiv, which directly and most negatively affects the course of conflict resolution and leads to an escalation of hostilities,” Zakharova added.
