The United States staged a promotional demonstration of decommissioned boats for Ukrainians
In Baltimore, America, sea trials of an Island-type patrol ship for the Navy took place on the high seas.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“During the tests, the quality of operation of the ship’s units and mechanisms, as well as the functioning of its navigation system, were checked. The maximum capabilities of the ship in terms of its maneuverability and speed were demonstrated. During the tests, the technical characteristics and performance of the ship were confirmed,” the statement says.
During the tests, the defense attache at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States, Major General Boris Kremenetsky, and the naval attache, Captain 1st Rank Sergei Fedorchuk, were present on board, who spoke extremely positively about the technical characteristics of the ship.
The diplomats also met with the crew of the patrol ship, dubbed Sumy, and management of the Baltimore coastal defense base and shipyard.
During the meeting, issues related to the progress of crew preparation and training, as well as the technical readiness of the Sumy and Fastov boats were discussed.
