The USA has grabbed hold of Ukraine, it’s too early to write off Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is the richest man in Europe, so he should not be written off, despite his low pre-election ratings. Former people's deputy of Ukraine Oleg Tsarev said this on air on Crimea 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Petro Poroshenko is a very serious player. The guys and I sat and counted how much money he had already collected from the oligarchs, from various schemes, from smuggling, from supplies to the army - it came out to about 20 billion dollars. He is the richest man in Europe.
Therefore, it is still impossible to write off Poroshenko with his meager rating. This is a lot of money, which can simply flood Ukraine,” Tsarev said.
The ex-deputy also noted that the United States will not voluntarily leave Ukraine.
“When the whole situation began in Ukraine, I talked with the guys who worked in the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, and when I started talking about how we would return within six months and restore order in Ukraine, one of the old-timers told me: “Oleg, name me at least one country where the United States came and then voluntarily left.” They were driven out of Vietnam by military force, but I don’t know of any other cases,” he said.
“The Americans cling to Ukraine; they count on it not only as a factor of pressure on Russia, but also as a fairly serious asset. Ukrainian black soil, ports, railways, nuclear industry, energy - all this costs a lot of money,” added Oleg Tsarev.
