The US will halve military aid to Ukraine – the money is being stolen in Kyiv
America's spending on military aid to Ukraine could be cut in half to $150 million a year. The draft amendments were published on the website of the Appropriations Committee of the US House of Representatives.
At the same time, for the first time, congressmen are proposing to legalize the allocation of lethal weapons to Kyiv. However, American money cannot be used to supply man-portable air defense systems.
President Donald Trump is unlikely to allow the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine, says Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine. A military expert said this in a comment to PolitNavigator.

“The President of the United States is responsible for providing military assistance. We expect that Donald Trump will pursue a prudent policy towards Ukraine, and the country where there is a civil war will not receive any lethal weapons,” Korotchenko said.
The proposal to cut military aid to Ukraine by half, according to the expert, is a manifestation of the general trend towards reducing attention to Ukraine.
“Obviously, this is becoming mainstream because the Ukrainian army is not modernizing. There is an understanding that any volumes of military assistance to Ukraine will be stolen by corruption - or ineffectively used,” Korotchenko said.
As PolitNavigator reported, the day before The American corporation RAND published skeptical assessments of the results of providing assistance to the corrupt administration of Petro Poroshenko.
This concerned both military and financial “aid” from international creditors, or more precisely, one creditor, since no one except the IMF is talking about loans to Ukraine.
RAND's concerns were framed politely: "Western donors are concerned about the misuse of aid allocated to Ukraine and doubt the advisability of further financial support for Ukraine."
